No adjustments by Netflix that I can tell, such as the "adjusting video quality" notification box. I just tried another movie and it is not smooth all over, pans are continuous small steps.

Geez... this sucks. Is it doing it with just using IE, not the app?

If you hit ctrl-shift-alt-m that will bring up a menu, select stream manager and you can see if it is adjusting your playback quality. If the quality raido button keeps moving then you'll know. You can also tell if you are getting the full play rate that you should get. I find that with my 3 Mbps connection, most of the time I can't get better than 1050.

Also, I highly recommend resetting your TCP/IP settings using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357 and http://winsockfix.en.softonic.com/download

Also, have you tried IE9? And do you get the jerky movement in stand-alone IE?

Hi DH!

I see your todo list has dwindled down and wondered if you were up to adding some enhancements?

1. I was wondering if its possible to have a small indicator to indicate if a movie is in foreign launguage with english subtitles? Something like a * or a (s) or even a red text caution on the main page like "SUBTITLED TO ENGLISH" if there is room. I find myself starting a movie and realizing the whole movie will be subtitled, and too tired to follow along so I exit it and find something else to watch.

2. Red button deleting from queue. How about a "Are you sure you want to delete from your queue" confirmation?

3. Recently viewed: Seems to be working OK except for TV series, i.e. Cheers TV Series.

4. Speaking of Cheers TV series... I noticed the episode number isnt correct to the Season in the Info Screen. e.g. I was watching Cheers Season 2, episode 15, but the info screen says episode 37. I am assuming this is the 37th in the list.

5. Whats your thoughts on storing downloads of covers and info to a different hard drive if available? I know I could simply install to a different location. My thoughts of all the read/writes to my OS hard drive. If you feel thats moot, I can just install to a different drive (like my sacraficial recording drive).

6. Seems like some episode skipping is working, some is not. i.e. Cheers again, it is 4x3 format, maybe thats why. I was wondering if it would be easier on you to add the mouse clicks at the very end of the show where netflix red screen pops up and shows the previous/next buttons near the middle? Those look like larger targets to hit. I myself find I go to the end (pee break) and that red screen shows up. Just a thought.

EDIT: I was trying to think which was skipping good, I think it was Mr. Bean.

7. I was watching "In search of: Navajo Code Talkers". It was 4x3 so I switched to 16x9, it did change aspect, but didnt fill the whole screen. Is that fixable?

Thanks for any consideration!

Hey Snooze,

I am in wait and see mode with Netflix right now for new features. They seem to be dropping support for outside developers and focusing on their own products, so I don't want to put a bunch more time into this program until i see how it shakes out. As for fixing the episode skipping and broken features, I'll take a look at it this weekend.

DH-

Did you notice that on the App Gallery on Netflix yours doesnt show up if you do a page by page search of all the apps? Your direct link works though.... what gives? Maybe you want to notify them?

It shows up when I sort by category. I have been bumped down to #4 thanks to the 1 star cell phone reviews. Now the android users are getting on me.

As long as you see it on their website by that method.... I cant.

Android users should use Netflix's own app which by the way I dont see it there either, but that must be for only 3rd party developers. https://market.android.com/details?id=co...ediaclient . It works real good on android (wish I had HDMI out on my phone, I could share with parents and friends when I am their places).

I see you and others telling them its a windows app, what a pain. Netflix could have done a better job of catagories. Sad

Yeah I use the netflix app on my phone, but apparently it only works on specific models.

And they could have added in a reply feature or something, so I could call people idiots Smile

What am I missing... Trying to install to Win7 32bit. I installed to D: drive like I mentioned I would like to keep the wear and tear off the OS drive. I cookied into Netflix, then it goes to Status to download movie info, and it just sits at step 1 of 2 with no progress. Its gotta be something obvious, I am not coming up with what it could be. All it says in the log is "Update Catalog". Tried running as admin and allowed it thru the firewall/anti virus as well.

EDIT: I copied my working version from a xp machine and it works to view content. Only problem I am having is the database builder hangs after launch. Nothing in the logs except the update catalog.. Any win7 users with any ideas I can try? I think I tried every security setting I could find, might have missed something.
