I'm running comclean with comskiphelper. I was having the same problem as Hamstergirl, but it seems to be working now, after I made the edits Erik recommends in post #43. My postprocessing bat looks like this:

ComskipHelper.exe > ComskipHelper.log
call comclean.bat %1 >comclean.log
RenameRecordings.exe > renamerecordings.log
rectracker.exe %1 > rectracker.log
Xlogcan.exe
Xbaclog.exe
Xlogplus.exe
Xlogbakp.exe

It's giving me a correctly renamed file with the commercials cut out, and an unedited file with the original name.

I'm running comskip 0.66, didn't know I didn't need comskiphelper for it.

Question though, how do I change comclean so it only generates an edited and renamed file, and no backup file of the original?

I guess I will try to download comclean 0.66 version....

BTW, I haven't installed xlog plugin yet....(I don't want to get into too many plugins before I make sure all my current plugins are working properly ^_^)

I'll give your method (& reboot's recommendation) a try.....

@ King Mob.
If you have comskip 0.66, you don't need comskiphelper. It runs fine on it's own.
To NOT generate the "filename_original.mpg", change the line that reads:
move "%~dpn1.mpg" "%~dpn1_original.mpg"

So that it reads:
delete /Q "%~dpn1.mpg"

@ HamsterGirl35, get comskip 0.66 and set up your postprocessing.bat as below.
Add the log outputs, so you can see if (and where) something goes wrong.
Set it up thus:
Quote:Comskip.exe %1 > Comskip.log
call comclean.bat %1 >comclean.log
RenameRecordings.exe %1 > renamerecordings.log

All, I hadn't heard about comclean. It seems like this is something that can be built into ComskipHelper to call after comskip is run on a file.

I see that a lot of you are using RenameRecordings as well. It should not appear before any programs that take the filename as a parameter as after RenameRecordings runs, the file may not exist any more (being renamed and all).

For you comskip/comclean gurus: can Comskip be configured to detect and mark out the true beginning and endings of movies recorded from movie channels? I think it would be fantastic if comclean could trim the the fat off movies and leave them ready for transcoding and archiving. How feasible is this?

@ ZaDDaZ. Comclean with comskip works wonders. No more manually editing the commercials.
Part of comclean.bat calls renamerecordings, so that the three work together properly.
For those of us that record episodic stuff, these plugins save tons of time, and for me, they're the 3 most important to have working properly.
The latest comskip does work better than earlier versions (I have no idea why), and I found no need for comskiphelper any more.

@ King Mob. I haven't found a way for comskip to accurately detect start and end, but cutting those parts off is much easier than cutting in the middle, so I don't really find it a hassle. In a perfect world, maybe this will eventually happen Smile

Hi,

Anyone knows where I can get the renamerecordings (with s).

I got the comskip and comclean work wonderfully, however I have a problem with two recording shows finished at same time from my PVR500MCE. Only one show was selected to go through the postprocessing.bat. Any solutions on this.

Thanks.

I looked again into the code of comclean and I have to admit that I can't find why this error can/does happen when two recordings finish at the same time.

Of course if someone buys me a second PVR150MCE (59 Euro) I will gladly do more testing Smile

A workaround could be to remove comskip and comclean from postprocessing.bat and use dirmon ( from http://www.dragonglobal.org) after you have moved the recordings to the right directories and with the right names.
dirmon then haver to start comskip and comclean thus ensuring that only one skip/clean process runs at the one time.

Hello all, I just read this forum and tried all the stuff out, and now I see a problem:
whenever I try to watch the shows that have had the Comclean operation run on them, whenever it gets to an area in which the ad has been cut, GB-PVR freezes and stops responding. I'm going to disable comclean, but can anyone let me know what's going on? My postprocessing.bat is in the GB-PVR base folder, as are comclean, renamerecording, and comskip v0.66.

as I do not use GBPVR to watch the cleaned show I can not help you.,

But first try another play mpeg player, if that works than maybe the .txt file is instructing gbpvr to do something....
