Are you sure that's not a case of the timeline being reported incorrectly during playback? At 21:02:01 it clearly showed the graph being stopped and all the components removed.
Don't think so. 15 minutes of the news was recorded as well. The file size is larger and the properties show the same amount of time it ran over. Usually the file size is about 7 GB and it's more than 8.
It was still showing as recording in the status screen but if I looked in the TV Guide, it shows it as completed and not still recording.

I honestly have too many tuners going on at once and no real need for these many. My brother in law just got a new job and threw me a Ceton USB tuner that he can't use and I've added that (though this problem began before that was added).
I need to do some cleaning up and it's really not a big deal now that I know what I have to do. I'll keep an eye on things and see if I can find a contributing factor to it all. Don't waste your time on this.

Just an FYI....I started all the tuners from scratch removing all pending and recurring recordings, re-scanned for channels for each device and then scheduled the recordings.
Since the recording is taking place as I type this, I wanted to show what the device status shows and it's confusing. It appears to show all my tuners recording the same show at the same time. I have the HVR2250, the 950 and both of the HDHR tuners recording at the same time.
I'm sure when this recording is scheduled to stop in the next 40 minutes, it won't.
To the best of my knowledge, I've done nothing to NPVR with the exception of adding the Network Recorder but I'm sure the problem of the recording going past end time was happening before.

Did you ever get this resolved? I just recently installed a HDHomerun Prime and now am having a very similar issue. I have had recordings that record late at night 2am or something and they record for hours on end. This morning when I went to the pvr at 7:30am 2 shows that were to record from 2:30 -3 I believe were still recording. I had to restart the services to get them to stop. Unfortunatly I didn't grab the logs and they have been over-written. It happened another night too, and it recorded about 5-6 hours of the same channel. If it happens again I will post the log files.
I had a recording of House go on for several hours past its stop time until I manually restarted the npvr recording service. The tray icon remained red the whole time, status showed the program was still recording, and the file contained many, many hours of... I think it was NCIS. I don't care much, no harm no foul, just trying to be helpful.
We both have 2250s, relevant?
