I have the 30 day trial from Netflix (streaming only) and I found that I can only see the data and watch the movies when I select the Canada option (I don't live in Canada). When Canada is not selected it shows LOADING please wait.... and nothing happens. Also nothing in my instant queue shows up and I have movies and tv shows in my queue on the web site.
Another thing is when I start the app it shows install screen 1 of 2 for about 3 min then loads up. It that supposed to happen? That may be because I haven't made it through a complete data base download without an error. I believe the error is due to my internet dropping out. It is a wireless connection from the main house 100 yards away not very reliable. I am going to try to download again tonight and see what happens.
All that being said in the last week or so I have tried the Boxee netflix app, the xbmc netflix app, and of course our own gbpvr app by Whurlston and if I can work these small issues out I believe this one will work best for me. Thanks allot!
OK, try the following. Before doing so, realize that the database update requires a 1GB download, which is time consuming and the API likes to get goofed up. I recommend that you close all other programs and do not use the internet (at all, including other devices) while performing the initial database update. So essentially I recommend doing it in the middle of the night. There is no recovery method with the API, so if you get shut down due to your internet dropping out, you have to start completely over again. To resume the database update, change the line in your ini file to read "Time to renew=1" and open the link for database update in your start menu. This will resume the database update, but will restart the 1 GB download (make sure you change it back when you complete the update). With that said, this should work for you.
1) Go to netflix.com and log out.
2) Delete cookies through IE.
3) Delete your movieinfo.ntf file and copy the blank database as movieinfo.ntf.
4) Change your ini to Canadian=False.
4) Open the program, it will prompt you to login (make sure to check remember me).
5) It should start updating the database. Let this complete.
Now if this doesn't work, then please send me your logs ({netflix install folder}\movieinfo\logs) and we'll get it straightened out.
FYI, if you get the installation screen when you start up the program, that means the database update stopped at some point and it is downloading the star ratings for the movies that were updated. This happens occassionally, but it only takes a minute or two.
