A big factor in the time and CPU used is HD being MPEG2 in North America, and H.264 nearly everywhere else.

Even we'r far off topic, does it take more cpu to decode H.264 than MPEG2? "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy"

Thats more of a question for the comskip guys. I'm pretty sure they dont have any GPU acceleration though, so we just talking a regular software decoding.

mvallevand Wrote:Yes thanks, that sounds right. I'll get this into imageGrab so people can start grabbing before your next release. imageGrab can easily get the tbn files but I think it will involve a restructuring of the recording skins, since the metadata isn't meta, the list is. The busy and rather ugle sample a STV user posted on this message http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post412689 probably shows the kind of thing that needs to be done for tbn files to add to the impact. Most of my content is in the video library so recordings is... meh... but there is so much that can be done as far as skinning and design. heck, the improvements in npvr with metadata over the past ~6 months are amazing - no complaints from me.
