Task bar remains visible in 'Full Screen' mode with Win7 text size at 150%

I've made the text size of my HTPC bigger (150%) so I can use standard applications comfortably from the sofa. Unfortunately this has resulted in NextPVR no longer taking up the whole screen in "Full Screen" mode - the task bar remains visible. Is this a bug or just an avoidable side effect?

Note: if I enable NextPVR's "Always on top" mode the task bar will be hidden, but this mode makes it hard to launch applications from NextPVR as they will show behind it's window.

Sorry, I'm not sure why that happens. I've seen it reported a couple of times over the years, but wasnt able to find a way around it.

Looks like it's not just NextPVR, Chrome full screen mode does the same thing. Will have to Google it...

I found that the task bar hides with 100% or 125% text size, or if you disable Aero. I haven't found a solution yet, but the fact that you see the same behavior with Chrome does see to indicate it is a Windows problem.

I've found I can have a 140% (custom) text size and full screen is really full screen. Setting the size to >140% shows a "Some items may not fit on your screen if you choose this setting while your display is set to this resolution" warning, and the taskbar still visible in full screen mode.

(this is all with Aero on as normal)

Set zoom to 125% or use the always on top commandline switch - so no, not really an ideal solution.

Fixed. You need to tick "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling" in the "Custom DPI setting" in the left hand menu.

This fixed the taskbar appearing on top of NPVR at 150% zoom.
