Hi, I am getting a USB device for a notebook setup. I am looking at the Plextor PX-M402U, but I don't get how I could hook up cable to that. I can't figure out if it would even work with cable. Would I need to get a coaxial-to-rca adapter? Does it have a tuner built-in? It must, if GB-PVR supports it....right?

I currently have a PX-AV100U (the cheapest Plextor USB device), which actually works very well. But it doesn't/wouldn't/couldn't work with GBPVR, right?

The PXM402U does not have a tuner. You can connect an external cable box to it using svideo or composite, but would need an IR Blaster to control the cable box (or other external tuner).

Correct. This vice will not work with GB-PVR.

I don't have a cable box or IR blaster, just a coaxial cable. In that case the Plextor won't work for me.

Is there any USB device supported by GBPVR which has a built-in tuner (and coax in)?

Thanks!

Hauppauge PVR USB2 or Plextor PX-TV402U spring to mind.

Looks like you need to update the home page, as PX-TV402U isn't listed there. I ordered one, so I hope it works!
