It's actually pretty hard to find Popcorn Hour A1x00 and EGreat NMT's anywhere in the world right now. You mind want to post on geekzone.nz, since when it first came out there was some interest in NZ because Syabas was talking about HE-AAC support that they never came through with.
I did add HE-AAC support to mvpmcx2 for use with NPVR and GBPVR, but not everyone knows this (or is inclined to install NPVR for this). Martin

execuse my stupidness, but what is "mvpmcx2" exactly? quick google suggestion emulation software? im looking for cheap thin clients for nextpvr, that can playback 1080p mkvs and pretty much anything and runs well, not sluggish and can playback live tv including streams from dvb-s, dvb-s2 and dvb-t in nz.

mvpmcx2 is client software that Martin wrote (mvallevand) to run on a A100/A110 popcorn hour. Possibly similar technology as the hauppauge MVP's and a modified VNC protocol I'm not sure...it's magic!! But it gives you the full npvr interface on a popcorn hour. There's also some special code in there that when it sees the HE-AAC-LC audio stream it transcodes it on the fly to something else so our freeview works.
So it's able to play almost everything...I haven't tried 1080p but i thought the A100's did struggle with that and got really hot. But it plays everything else, 720p, DVB-S DVB-T from NZ - I haven't seen DVB-S2 running through it but that would be similar if not less intensive than DVB-T.

Hi Reven, I'm in NZ also and when all was said & done, the best economic option for me was to order a refurbished popcorn hour direct from http://www.popcornhour.com. Just click the "Buy Now" link and then look for the "Refurbished" link on the left hand pane. The stock comes & goes.

Right, unfortunately since it is internal to mvpmcx2 you can't use this if you ever need to use the NMT in standalone mode. The A1x0's shouldn't have problems with 1080p up to standard Blu-Ray resolution. Some mkv's are created to higher than BD spec (unnecessarily) so they would need to be remuxed to .M2TS for proper playback.. The BD problems on the first generation NMT's are typically with high-end lossless audio decoding in lieu of pass through. Martin

This week I bought an Egreat 34A in The Netherlands (http://www.hdsupplies.nl/nl/eg-m34a.html) for 55 Euro. New in box, seems to be limited stock. Pieter

That is a great price!
If it was summer time, it would have been a great excuse to have a run over on the bike and pick one or two up.

That's a good price for new Pieter, you might want to try configuring the Hauppauge remote if you want the colour keys following Jaggy's notes on the wiki. PCH A100s and A110 are finally going for $50-100 on ebay, it took a long time for this price and they are getting older so new with the 2 year warranty is pretty sweet.

There has been a little flurry on ebay UK - they are going for between 50 and 80 GBP (it always seems to be dollar for pound). Oh, and a wireless MVP still in the shrinkwrap went for 1.21GBP a few days ago...
