I am running a client/server setup

Running server 2008 r2, Pinnacle Dual Sat Card Pro 4000i

Installed all the DVB hacks/patches to use DVB on server 2008 scan all channels fine.

When I try to watch a station on the server it hangs, in the C:\temp directory are the TS files but they stay at 0KB

The same happens when I use it from the client side.

I have attached the logs for the client PC and the server service as this is the ultimate configuration I want working
Please help :-)

Did you set up the decoders in Settings->Decoder screen? And is Nrecord.exe (and NextPVR.exe) allowed through the firewall on both systems?

Try some other codec packages, npvr is a 32-bit application so it doesn't care about 64-bit codecs.

Probably best to leave the client PC out of the mix while you try to work out what is going on. From your description it sounds like the device is failing to lock onto a signal though.

Can you post the npvr.log/nrecord.log showing an attempt to watch live tv on the server?

ok, the logs are exactly the same, now can you let me know how the streaming works, I have no sound card in the server, would that stop streaming to a client with a sound card? the reason I ask is that it looks like the stream is captured on the server and wrote to a local TS file and this is then streamed, without and ausio card it wont be able to write the stream in the first place is that right?

The logs wont be exactly the same. Can you post another example set of logs, with the live tv attempt made directly on the server.

Lack of sound card in the server would have no impact on it's ability to stream. It'd only look for the server's sound card if you tried playing a file or live tv on the server.

Can you try setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\LogTSFlow=1 (DWORD) in the registry, create a c:\temp directory, then reproduce the problem and post the c:\temp\mon.txt file? This will show me if any data is delivered from the device.
