You either need to use registry changes or a software like Hip or Intelliremote.

As long as the irremote program is running in the background, I believe you can control anything that has focus. If no program has focus, the default values are used which outputs whatever keystrokes are programmed for that button. Any program can be programmed to start using the shortcut keystrokes.

In hip you add nextpvr as a program then learn the start key and link it to nexpvr.exe
then go into alternate input and learn it there also and link it to the nextpvr.exe (gets used always then no matter whats running) Another thing i have is every second press gets linked to the mouse up right then left click(mimics mouse action) so it refocuses if you have nextpvr losing focus problems (not always a issue dont ask me why)

You can also replace ehshell.exe with a file that calls nextpvr. The MCE Home button will by default call this file regardless of window focus, etc (its a MS global hotkey type thing).
1) Check that MCE is installed 1) create a .bat file that launches NVPR 2) download a bat to exe converter (I use http://download.cnet.com/Bat-To-Exe-Conv...55897.html ) 3) create the output file ehshell.exe, test to make sure it launches NPVR as expected 4) backup/rename the original C:\Windows\ehome\ehshell.exe 5) copy your custom ehshell.exe to the above location Note - you may have to take ownership and add full control permissions to the orginal file (right-click --> properties --> security). By default only TrustedInstaller has access. Personally I use this for re-focusing xbmc on my HTPC (or restarting if it bombs out), but i'm 99.99% sure it will work for NPVR just the same. |
