I'v found an old version from 2000, will it do?

created - 7/13/2009

No version numbers in Explorer properties.

Since both installations were from the same Win7 family pack, it seems I may have missed an update on the lounge box. I'll try copying the newer version and test later. Out of time now.
yeah - it'd be interesting to see if that helps.

You will have it. It's the Windows 'MPEG-2 Demultiplexer' filter. You cant use NextPVR or GBPVR without this.

I can definitely see a delay after skip problem with news.ts that I could not see with bears.ts and which I do not see with my own recordings.
Unfortunately, despite 2hrs of testing, I cannot reliably repro the problem.

When I do see the problem (stall after skip) you see an inaccuracy between "jump to time" and "reported time" in the log and also notice how the delay is between updating and hiding OSD. The OSD does not actually does not appear on the screen when the problem reproduces. Possibly on the first skip, but not after that.

It is like it is trying to update the OSD and failing.

For the news.ts, I do see a very consistent delay of 2-4 seconds on each skip with arrows or mouse, slower than my own files, maybe just a PAL/NTSC thing? However his earlier bears.ts file skips much quicker. NMT skipping is also much faster

Vista, ffshow for audio and video, mpg2splt.ax 2010-12-29

The search in Windows Explorer turns up nothing, except that old one from a zipped Win2000.

On the PC, do you hear audio before the video? I assume so.

news.ts has a gop that takes about a second and a half, so depending on exactly where you end up after the skip you might get audio pretty much straight away, but it might up to a second and half for the first iframe goes by in the stream for display. Also, I'm not sure why, but sometimes decoders dont deliver video until the second iframe, which can mean a worst case of about 3 seconds.

Still this is very different from these people getting 15-20 second delays, which I think is something different to what you're seeing.

You'll definitely have this filter on your machine, or you wouldn't be able to use NextPVR. I guess it's possible the file has a different name on your Window's install, but I've never heard of it being in a different filename. You can check by running a utility like graphedit to see which .ax file holds the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer filter.

Yes I should have said that audio is immediate, that is why the delay is so noticeable on this file.

I checked the bears.ts sample, and it does have a shorter GOP at just less than a second, which does mean it's more likely to deliver the iframe(s) quicker after a skip.
