Actually I guess was wrong it is always 32k, I though I was seeing ~169000 before maybe that was the client.

Mike, so what exactly happened for you? the skips were inaccurate, or froze up for a long time before playing?

Also, if you pause and skip, do you see frame updates while skipping, and if you hit play, does playback begin immediately?

Skips have always been reasonably accurate for me; my problem is freezing for a long time before playing. Pause and skip works fine - playback begins immediately. Audio a very short time before video which is the GOP frame or whatever, I guess. All with TSreader2.

Can you add this additional patch, and let me know if it helps?

I really can hardly wait to try these new skipping updates, but tonight is Oscar night and if I go screwing with the HTPC and somehow it causes a problem with recording the show properly I'll be unrolling a sleeping bag on the back patio.

That pretty much fixed it. The skips are not instantaneous - they take 1-2 sec from pushing the button to playback starting. Not as fast as dvr-ms or mpg files, but acceptable for me. I tried many small and large skips, both forward and back, with no problems. Need logs?

Good work and thanks. The old, weak box is now useable.

I found another problem with reader2, it doesn't seem to detect 4:3 content before or during playback. As for the Oscar's I wish I could skip them.

Can you reproduce this, and post the logs?

BTW, is that 1-2 before you get audio/video, or do you get audio sooner and this 1-2 seconds is before the video appears?
