I finally got to put all these patches in....

holy crap sub, you nailed that! skipping is spot-on now, and fast as hell. I zeroed out my comskip offsets, and the first comskip break I got to played like a professional edit.Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I'm adding a consolidated "Skip Patch" to the sticky thread. It has the latest version of all the skipping related files up to this post (and the latest version I have of NShared.dll for good measure). This will quickly become 2.3.6 R2 if there are no more changes for a few days.

Great.

Given I had to change so many files, and I'm now in a position where some of those files cant be updated without the others also being updating (due to dependencies between them), I may have to package them into a 2.4 some time soon.

Has anyone been able to try this patch with a recording in progress? It would often seem to lose its position and jump back to the beginning of the recording for me when skipping around.

Yep, access to Live TV from the client is behaving now. The timebar is showing some funny things though, eg -00:00:-10 (with the number on the end "incrementing" until it hits a minute, then you see: -00:-01:-00). It might have always done that though, I've never really paid much attention to it before Smile

Was this from the PC itself, or from a client PC?

I am aware it can have a problem from a client PC in this situation, but I need to make a slight change to the protocol, which I'll have to do when I package up a new release, otherwise I'd well and truely break thing.

I didn't have time to do a lot of testing, but I think TSReader2 breaks the QAM and ATSC scan or at least makes it so slow that it is not usable. I was finding 1 minute+ per frequency.

It shouldn't do - it's not used in anyway during scanning. Its only used when you're seeing video on the screen (ie playback of recordings, or watching live tv).

Skipping during recording or live TV (same thing, right?) is fine on the local machine, as expected. US mpeg2.
