I have tried the patch briefly.
On recordings that were under reporting file length this seems to have fixed it.
But there were quite a lot before that were over reporting length by approximately double which are now trebling the length.
I have tried comparing files with MediaInfo to see if there are any common factors - so far without success Sad (How do they get their info?)
Not tried any skipping etc. yet.
Sub - any other info or files you need?

Martin - If you get your timing.info application completed I would be happy to give it a go. I finally purchased VideoRedo when I realised that Comskip will never work well in the UK - Cross-fades to ads, Logos overlapping breaks etc. - difficult enough to spot with the human eye!

If you've got another sample still exhibiting the problem, supply it and I'll take a look.

It will be about 10 or 11 hours before I get a chance - commute and work got in the way again.

Sub
I am unable to upload any meaningful files - but I believe I may have found the problem with the latest patch.
After much cutting lengths and trying - it appears that any file less than 4 Gigabytes is now being reported accurately - that's why I can't upload Big Grin
Over 4Gb and the reported length is massively over estimated - 1 hour 33 mins reported as 17 hours on one cut - the old 4gb limit rearing its head?

Ok, I'll try some larger recordings to check.

Oh, interesting... I'm not cutting files and am not seeing length reporting problems, but have found that comskip jumps are WAY off, to the point of watching all commercials and skipping most of the show, on recordings over 4GB (which for me is any HD recording over 30 minutes, and even a few 30 minute shows get just over 4GB). They're not all that close on shorter recordings either, but long recordings are markedly worse. I've had to turn off autoskip for now until I have time to upload a good sample for sub... maybe the 4GB revelation will aid in finding the bug.

johnsonx42, are your durations reported correctly?

I assume your files have timing.info, where Lao Pan's dont.

Meant to say in my previous post - the same file cut at 3.88 GB was accurate to within seconds - at 4.39 GB was showing the 17 hours actuallly only about 10 mins extra.
These are of course without timing info - short term keepers with timing info have been good (as expected)

Yes, the durations are reported fine, and they do have timing.info. I suppose it's not related, but as soon as he mentioned 4GB I realized my worst offenders were over 4GB; the movies I've recorded since the new skipping patches are completely unwatchable with autoskip enabled.
