OK, I'm getting a tad confused, and I suspect it's all a problem at my end. However, I figure I can't be the ONLY one having this issue, so figured I'd put it out here for those who know to correct me. FWIW, I'm running GB-PVR 0.92.11 on XP 2 Home on a machine with a PVR-350, 512 megs of RAM and a P4 2.93 GhZ.
The recording service is setup as a service, and comes up when the box comes up. I then had been starting up first the GBPVR-MVP server, and then GBPVR itself. Task manager shows this as two instances of GBPVR, but things run pretty well for about 24 hours. After about 24 hours, something causes "System" to start running at close to 100% CPU. I thought this might be the EPG update, but since it doesn't seem to ever stop, I doubt that's it.
So, I tried running GBPVR first, and then the GBPVR-MVP server. Sure enough, after 48 hours no problem. However, now when I hit the green button on my remote to get GBPVR back into focus, it gives the focus to the GBPVR-MVP server. Which means I have to go over to the PC and click to get the focus, then move back to where the TV is.
Does anyone know what might be going on that's causing the system task to jump up? Should it matter whether I run GBPVR or GBPVR-MVP first? Any idea what I'm doing wrong or misinterpreting?
TIA,
Ewan
