MVP Stutter and stop

Dear all,

numpty back again....

Also realise that MVP is no longer supported and that I have advised others of this on this forum :eek:

To be clear I am not after any permanent fix all's or changes as am in process of moving all thin clients to NMT's but that may take me a little while... (Time is not my friend at the moment).

The problem is that I think I have forgotten as much as I knew about setting up a NextPVR system as I remember.

MVPMC dongle booting up a treat (remembered that bit!)

LiveTV is the problem. Stutter and then often drop out.

Think I have the right dongle. Boots: Oct 30 2011

I have sniffed around the forum and may have missed something.

Does it matter what MpgMUX I have reg'd?

Have about 8 to hand and gone through most of them....

With NextPVR you don't need to worry about an mpeg-ps mux anymore because everything is saved as ts. From mvpmc's perspective the streaming and playback of both formats is going to be similar enough that it won't make to much of a difference. LiveTV worked the last time I checked but that was a long time ago. The mvpmc forum offers some command line options which may or may not help stuttering.

For SD live-tv streaming ensure that you have the default setting

<TranscodeTsForMVP>false</TranscodeTsForMVP>

If that works of course HD ts files will fail.

As for the version the latest will be on the wiki.

Thanks Martin,

I swear that B&B (Builders and Baby) have made me even more of a numpty than I was before :eek:

I could not even remember about the mpg.mux, so I did not even need to bother farting about with that for hours!

I have a feeling that by fiddling with individual settings for the MVP in config.xml things will get better. In the strange land of technology the stuttering has improved already after a reboot of everything....... :confused:

It would be great if another MVP user could confirm that I have dug up the last mvpmc dongle that boots Oct 30 2011.

Once again before I forget. THANK YOU MARTIN! (AND Sub, OF COURSE!, AND UJB!)

IMHO it is the extenders that make the whole NextPVR project/software such a flexible/configurable and great for everyone PVR solution.

As I wrote earlier the last dongle is on the wiki and it is Oct 30 2011.

Many thanks Martin, I had the MVP up and working as good as it was before bu tthen hit some snags with NextPVR so will question on another thread....
