CSI Miami Recordings Always In Spanish

I realize my system is archaic, but this one single problem is really bugging me. One show, and one show only (CSI Miami), always records in Spanish. I'm recording in dvr-ms, and using ffdshow for audio, PDVD9 for video. I see a playback option in Haali splitter to choose a language (but anyway, Haali isn't being used), but I can't find anything in ffdshow. Or maybe it's too late, if the only audio recorded was Spanish. Luckily, I don't particularly like this show (David Caruso is a jerk).

If you're on GBPVR, you can edit the tuning file to record another audio program. I had to do that for PBS here as the AC3 stream was audio captioned for the visually impaired. I don't remember exactly where this is, but I think if you look in the tuning cache you can see all the audio and video streams for a channel. I had to change the ID of the audio stream I wanted to record. Sorry for the vague answer. If you look around in there a bit, I think you can figure it out.

Thanks for that info. I have two entries for this channel, the one with AC3 tunes to nothing.

Here's what I have for our PBS station from clear QAM:

Back in the GBPVR days I used the WizBDA channel tools to extract this info, I think. Somehow, I got to see all the streams for a channel, not just the selected ones.

There are two audio streams for the same video stream ID for this channel. I had to use the non-AC3 one to get rid of the audio captioning (on the programs that had it, mostly Masterpiece IIRC).

Is this QAM for you? Looks like you have two channels on the same frequency (78) with completely different programs. Can't tell if there is another audio stream. I take it the channel is in English when you tune it with a TV with a QAM tuner, or other programs on the channel are in English?

you could either rescan your channels, or try something like tsreader lite to examine that channel and see which audio stream is the right one... then you can edit the tuning string to match.

Thanks for the responses. I'll give tsreader lite a go... but my wife just mentioned to me CSI Miami has been cancelled... I'm still getting to the bottom of this.

They probably cancelled it because everyone who could understand it was watching Univision or Telemundo.
