List programs starting with characters other than A-Z or 0-9 in Search menu

The Search under Main Menu lists the program titles beginning with characters A-Z or 0-9 only. The programs starting with accented characters (e.g. á é í ó ö ő ú ü ű in hungarian and others for other languages) do not show up in the list. Therefore I always miss such programs when browsing the upcoming week's epg in the search menu.

I can imagine/propose few alternative solutions (in decreasing preference):
1. Automatically include all characters that occurs in the EPG as the first character of a program.
2. Somewhere in a setting or the config file give a chance to add the extra accented or special characters to list.
3. List the programs starting with accented characters under the corresponding non-accented character.
4. List all extra starting characters under *, for example.

You can already make a translation file for your language (in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Languages) and translate "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890" to whatever set of characters you want.

Unfortunately people haven't supplied translation files so we only really have the default english. The original plan was that users would supply translation files for their regions, and I'd supply them with the installer, and as a future user you'd just have had to select Hungary, and you'd autmatically get the correct UI language and search options etc.

I created an xml file in the languages directory with the following content:

<Translations>
<Translation original="ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ1234567890" translated="AÁBCDEÉFGHIÍJKLMNOÓÖŐPQRSTUÚÜŰVWXYZ1234567890"/>
</Translations>

Then selected it in Settings > General > Language, done.

As for the user supplied translation files. Where can I get the complete list of strings to translate? The danish.xml included with v2.4.3 is rather short. Is the czech.xml complete? Presumably not, because it does not contain this ABC... translation. I'm willing to translate to hungarian.

Unfortunately there isn't a complete list of strings available, but you can get most of them pretty easily. You can set <LogTranslations>true</LogTranslations> in the <General> section of config.xml, then use the app and any translatable strings seen by the software will be logged to C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Languages\Translations.txt. If you have a look around the various screens (or leave it enabled for a few days), then it should generate a fairly complete list.
