I just updated to WebRadio 3.7, and enabled the Digital Radio feature as I now have basic digital cable which includes some digital radio channels. I am able to listen to them using NPVR, so they're setup correctly.

However in WebRadio, I get an unhandled exception when I try any digital radio station. It shows the Waiting 1 Second message, then shows Buffering 167696, then the Unhandled exception appears.

Other WebRadio sources seem to work - I was able to listen to various Shoutcast and Live365 feeds. I do have various files showing up in C:\Temp, including Gbnetradio-#.ts and .mp3 files.

Any idea what's going wrong?

Your NPVR.log isincomplete, you may have copied it before it was flushed, but I strongly suspect that you don't have VLC installed or your WebRadio.xml doesn't point to the installed instance of VLC. In WebRadio.xml you need to configure the line

<vlc>C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe</vlc>

I might be able to play these natively now, I didn't bother changing the code since I thought I might be the only one using WebRadio for digital audio.

Since you are playing with QAM you might be interested in the WebRadio QAM video scanning too, I use it to scan specific channels that I know have temporary signals.

oh, no, I don't think I have vlc installed at all. I knew webradio could use it, didn't realise it was needed for digital radio. I'll install it and ensure that line is set correctly. Thanks Martin.

installing VLC and setting the path in webradio.xml made it work, but it only plays for a few seconds, then stops for a few seconds, then plays, etc. When playing directly in NPVR they play without interruption.

That said, I discovered through the listening I did that these stations are just regular local commercial radio stations, NOT the commercial-free "Music Choice" stations that appear in my channel lineup; those must be encrypted or transmitted in some other form as my QAM TV doesn't pick them up either. So now that I know what these stations are, I've lost interest in getting them to work through WebRadio and I'm going to disable the Digital Radio feature and delete the channels.

Now that I have it working again, WebRadio offers so much more with the various web sources... thanks for your work on it!

Thanks for the feedback. They recently started encrypting our cable-only music channels and added really boring SD video to it to, so it is only available via the HDPVR and not worth anything since as you wrote Internet radio is better anyway. I do use this for listening to local college stations.

It should buffer more than enough for VLC though. When (if?) this summer heat wave ends I will still see about getting the stream playing natively.

I would rate WebRadio in the top three "I couldn't live without" NextPVR plugins.

So I will add my thanks to Martin for his continued support of this plugin.

Thank Jaggy, I'm happy to write something that a few people use. Thanks to you and ACTCMS too, you enhance it so much with SSPLus.

Hi Martin
I have been putting together a set of updated icons and country flags for Web Radio - If the flags are moved to the RadioLogos folder they show up in all the correct places but when in the country Folder nothing shows - is this the expected behavior or does the path have to be added to the xml file & if so what format should it take?

Also I am getting quite a few Unhandled Exceptions while backing out of menu levels - almost as though it has forgotten what the next level up was
I imagine it would probably be better to wait until the next version of NPVR is out and if it still happens get the logs and error text together.

I would be more than happy to let you have the new icons if you are interested. Couple of samples below

I just noticed that is is reading from my old GBPVR folder so there was a bug, that I never noticed. If you look at the logs there should be a line telling you what folder is being used.

You're right though, will need to wait for the .NET 40 update to get the fix. Looks nice though so I am looking forward to trying this.

The log says it is looking in Media/Country (no path given) so it is either looking in the wrong location for the media folder or doesn't realize it needs a country icon at the - Reciva by Location (for example) / Oceania / New Zealand - level
When all the flags are moved to the RadioLogos folder they are displayed in the top right corner as expected.
