In Recordings screen, access the hidden menu by pressing Home key (I think).

Ok now I can try it - the menu also appears if you move the cursor to the top of the screen in Recording - you live and learn. Many thanks.

Phew!! All OK now that I have made a short manual recording. This all started when I got a BSOD after I had missed a required add on in the installation and I was trying to test everything. Many thanks to all who helped. It is useful to know that if I do terminate a recording manually the bat file will not run.
