I tried a whole rake of decoders - no joy.
When playing back a recording in progress no longer a Black Screen but recording is only quarter of what I should see.
The screenshot is what I use that used to work.

Anything else I should try?

If you take a copy of that file while it's growing, does it look valid. ie, do other players play it?

Yup, file is fine in VLC. I can record this way it seems, just not view in NPVR.

Does it play on the NMT live?

Yup, sure does.

These logs should show in order:
- Not playing on the PC in the FTA Digital Channels (H264) via a WinTV Device (from TV guide)
- Playing correctly on the PC in the Cable (MPEG2) Analog Channels via a Hauppage PVR 150 (from TV guide)
- Playing correctly on the NMT in the FTA Digital Channels (H264) via the WinTV Device (from TV guide)
- The Play All Videos (AVCHD Vids) crashing on the NMT (other thread) playing first file then hanging until plug pulled.
- Restarting the rec service then playing correctly on the NMT in the FTA Digital Channels (H264) via the WinTV Device (LIVE TV).

I have the same issues. All decoders the same. Only with Overlay does it not go black. Start Live TV, goes black within 1 second. Resize or just move the window and video appears in lower left about the same size, but not exactly the same as PIP would be. If I click in the black nothing happens, but click on the video and it fills the screen properly, but OSD does not display at all.

Similarly, when I start PIP, PIP video appears and main video goes black. Click on the PIP and main video returns, no OSD. Or, when PIP video appears, main video goes black, if I scroll or arrow, the menu appears, fully functional and if I exit to Main Menu the video appears about 1/2 size in the center of the screen, click on it and it fills the screen, still with PIP video there.
What, me worry?

It sounds like it's related to the decoders (or video renderer) you're using.

Also notice, when watching a recording with Live TV in PIP there is OSD. Swap so Live TV is full and recording in PIP, no OSD. Swap back to recording with Live TV in PIP and OSD returns.

And Live TV on NMT is fine.

I've tried all the H264 decoders I have - no joy

While there's unlikely to be on ANY correlation, the error messages above are uncanningly similar to the ones in this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...-a-decoder

Is there a way to uninstall/delete/degister ALL decoders and start again?

It was! I had to modify ffmpeg to tell it to use libavcodec for MPEG2, and presto..! Cheers. Not sure why I can't use Nvidia after so many years of doing so though....

Now I have another issue, but at least I can watch DVB-T.

The issue is that it will change channels just fine from DVB-T <=> DVB-T channels using the OSD miniguide, but from DVB-T <=>Cable channel using my Analog Card requires me going out into the TV Guide and back into the new channel - it will NOT change between tuners. Is this by design???
