PVR-500 MCE on regular XP

Hey Reboot, have you managed to get FM working with your 500MCE? If so, what version of drivers are you using? I'm having trouble getting mine to work and I'm wondering if it's because I'm using the bleeding edge drivers from shspvr (I think I was using the 500 drivers from the Hauppauge site the last time I got FM working).

The recording quality is MILES better than my 250 ever was, and I haven't started tweaking yet (other than a GOP of 5). I think I'll just leave it as it is.

According to Hauppauge the 150 was supposed to be the budget card and I guess the 500 is 150x2.

Did you figure a way to deinterlace LiveTV is Live Preview mode with the 500? I don't have a hardware decoder and I can't figure it out.

I don't bother with deinterlacing. Everything is played on a TV, so there's no point in doing the extra processing.
The 500 is sort of like a 150x2, but AFAIK, different chips, so it's not exactly. (I haven't got a 150 to look at).
I am also using the beta's from shspvr.com, and it took a bit of fiddling, but I now have FM, using the default FM player in gbpvr (once I downloaded lame).
To be honest, FM isn't that important to me. I'm still concentrating on getting comskip to work better (now that I have a card with no CC's), and it's a huge uphill battle.

Can anyone tell me if you can play DVDs from the 500 MCE either directly or thru third party software to the video out on the card? It's impossible to play them directly from the 350 which was very disappointing. I talked to the rep on the phone and he said you could but I'm not sure if he knew what he was talking about.

The PVR500 doesnt have a TV out. The only PVR card that does is the PVR350.

With the PVR500, you just use your regular video card for connecting to the TV. So yes, you can what DVD's via your regular video card (but the PVR500 plays no part in this).
