Just watched the video... this is so freaking awesome... kudos!

I don't know if I have the tech capabilities to implement this (I just tried to run Ton's gbpvr interface, but the directories did not match), but I will certainly try when you release it. This will finally get me to move to npvr.

That looks really cool Martin. Looking forward to playing with it.

For recorded TV shows, does this use tvdb for information, or the nextpvr database?

Technically the interface in the demo is using NEWA however it gets data from the npvv3 database and it might have an option to get more data from Schedules Direct which has expanded information for cast etc. Personally I use my imageGrabLite utility to get to get data from TVDB so the data is there in NextPVR, I think TVListing users also have some expanded metadata which I might think about providing via NEWA, dpending on how or even if this will be used. I will probably create more NFO in IGL and consider interfacing the master XBMC mysql table if I can use this on my extenders.

Ok. Since i don't think image lite is usable here as our air dates don't match Tvdb.

I looked at taking the XML files sub creates on each recording and putting them in plex but didn't find it Working very well.

Pretty impressive Martin.

Does comskip work? I thought I read somewhere that XBMC could use comskip files during playback, but I saw no sign of it in your video.

@psycik, playing through this interface, you don't need an NFO file, but I will see if I can make an XBMC compatible version with IGL

@johnsonx42, this is using the standard XBMC player and controls and will support all the navigation that XBMC has, comskip, short and long skip forward and backwards, fast forward, rewind, back 7 seconds, and direct key pad entry. Those recordings were all h264 and I don't bother using comskip on them, just on ATSC. Maybe I will demo this some other time, installing and running XBMC is quite easy. Skipping in live tv (and a zeroconf option I didn't show) isn't supported with simple http that NextPVR supports.

Note this video was made on a client machine so EPG performance is about the same as an NextPVR client, which is always more sluggish than on the server. Also the first demo'd file with the in-progress recordings started a bit slower because it was the first time opening the share.

So LiveTV will be strictly LIVE with XBMC as a front end? Perhaps NextPVR.exe could be used in "TV Viewer" mode for live tv, sort of a Front-end for the Front-end.
