McBainUK
Perhaps the new download page should start with a condensed version of the first 2 pages of the quick start guide followed by the link to the download and then links to the plugin / skin / utility pages of the wiki.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Dearest McBainUK,

there is a muddle here! about 2 or 3 threads boiled into 1 Big Grin

Personally I would give the totally thumbs up to your new 'Support' menu item Big Grin

As I said before to Jaggy some discussion here and for once I am in danger of not rambling Wink Too much

Parts of this discussion IMHO need to go to documentation. Parts of it need discussion with sub via possible XBMC integration?

Attached is why I have been a little distracted of late!

cheers all

Personally I think you guys did an awesome job with the website. I dont know what more you'd want. Sure there is probably some small changes that could improve things, but I reckon it's pretty great as-is.

Dearest sub,

I am only slightly poking you with a stick!

It is not a BIG stick, it is a Small one...

This thread has all gone a-skew.

I'm thinking back and forward here.

To the early days of GB-PVR and then Next-PVR.

We argued loads (not just you and me personally) the WHOLE Community about what NextPVR was, a Media System or a TV based system?

Your strength (for me?) lies in the fact that YOU have captured a whole TV capture system? And quite obviously are the best available source for this? By integrating (IMHO) with other providers of more whole MC systems you can corner a market.. Just for now. It will all change. But if you are not on the BandWagon?

cheers

Done. Please take a look.

sub: Note that there's now 2 places to update the release date & version. On the Download page and on the Download widget.

I claim the prize for spotting the deliberate mistake -- Download link on the download page points to the download page Big Grin

Still think that this thread has ended up in a multi-dimension Wink

But as we are here and not in doc thread...... Big Grin

Love this tweak McBainUK (personally) of the support section.

This perhaps:

There’s a user created Wiki style manual which will help you get the best out of NextPVR. It covers configuration, day to day usage complete with walkthoughs and helpful tips.

Could be:

There’s a user created Wiki style manual which will help you get the best out of NextPVR. It covers both general configuration and day to day usage as well as more complex home set ups. There are walkthoughs and helpful tips.

?!

Just a thought? Have no idea why I am posting this on a non-doc thread Wink

cheers

Direct access to movies (fanart/descripton/etc), Amazon streaming, ESPN3 sports (and, unlike PlayOn, you can fast forward), and Youtube for mindless entertainment.

Hit a programmed remote button, and xbmc exits, back to gbpvr. Even my wife gives 100% WAF.... Smile For me it's the "Holy Grail". Perfect network TV recording, great movie/internet source management. I think I'm done with my tinkering (yeah right... my wife speaking here).

This looks like exactly what I'd like to be able to do, at least until XBMC gets the PVR backend stuff working completely. So what is the "plugin" that you are doing this with?

Thanks.
