live tv keeps jumping back

anyone else noticed that live tv sometimes jumps back in the stream?

for example on my pi (and on an openelec HTPC) i was watching tv (sd) and it jumped back and showed about 30 seconds prior to where i was, then when it got back to where i was, it jumped back again.

stopped the stream and restarting it, temporarily fixed the problem but it came back.

i'll try and get some logs if i see it happening again.

didnt want to mention this if only on pi, but since happening on proper htpc thought I'd report it.

i do realise this isnt much help without any logs...

Can you try to reproduce it, and post the web.log/nrecord.log? Ideally with after a recording service restart so the logs are nice and clean

managed to reproduce it a few times and grab the logs.

it happened a couple of times during in this log, had to stop and restart the live tv to fix the issue, but then happened about 15/20 mins later or so.

no worries, seen you've been busy with other things, just thought you might have missed this. no rush.

managed to get 4tr and npvr working side by side (quad tuner, 2 tuners for 4tr and 2 for npvr), pis are using nextpvr old htpcs are using 4tr, so most of house is still using 4tr and tv works fine on that, ill switch everything back to npvr once this is solved. so once again not urgent.

Hmmm, could you possibly have run out of available disk space on your live tv buffer directory? This was the most likely scenario I found that accounted for what I saw in your logs. I did find another scenario, but I'm not sure it's really possible.

Either way, try to reproduce it again with this patch, and post the logs if it recurs. I've added better logging around the problem area.

cheers ill try it over the next few days.

my live buffer is a 4GB ram drive, so assuming the files are being cleaned it should be enough space, the drive is effectively empty when live tv isnt running.

There was a bug, fixed with a patch in this other thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ot-cleared, which was causing live tv buffer files not to be deleted.

I have also experienced this live tv looping, I applied the patch but it hasn't solved it. It may be a coincidence but both times the looping happened I was streaming live tv to an XBMC client and viewing a different channel on my server with NPVR frontend.
