I created a wiki site for this and posted v0.2 out there.

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Plugin.WebViewer

Wishlist
xml driven forms for
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=coconut+creek+fl

Zoom in/out
Now if we could have zoom in and zoom out using the Yellow and Green
buttons on the remote that would be great!

delete favorite

New Features
support for lots of favorites
can enable the popup window if you want, disabled by default
<CaptureApp window="false"/>

added a next feature. If you hit the play button on a website it will load
the next url but not switch you to it till you hit play again.

It creates a small box by default on the top left either red or green. Red means
we are still waiting for the website to load. Green means you are ready to view it
by hitting play.

The boxs position can be moved with the following in the skin
<StatusBoxLocation loc="10,30" size="15,15"/>

Added also autoload next. Can be disabled in the skin.
When you open a page it will load the next one for you to switch to it hit play.
<AutoLoadNext mode="true"/>

ibuki,

are you getting any exception? You click on the favorite it downloads the image c:\web.png but it never shows up in gbpvr?

Are you running a german os?

The next version will support custom user forms.

Below are two samples. A Popup box is build using the xml it provides string fields for the user to enter their user data it then builds up a url from the data and gets that page. Can be used for weather. Theater listings for other countries, stock quotes etc....

<custom name="maps.google.com" fixed="http://maps.google.com/maps?q=" delim="+">
<item name="city"/>
<item name="state"/>
</custom>

<custom name="fandango.com" fixed="http://www.fandango.com/TheaterListings.aspx?location=" delim="">
<item name="zipcode"/>
</custom>

Thanks very much, this is a very useful plugin for me.

One issue that tripped me up for a bit, but is probably obvious:
The web page I wanted to load requires a login that is normally stored as a cookie. I use Firefox, so this info is not entered in IE. Of course, when I first tried to load the page, I could not get beyond the login entry. The fix is simply to use IE to open the page and store the login info in IE.

I have done some experiments with entering data in forms and such. It is pretty difficult as soon as frames are introduced. Best bet is to use the cookie in IE once just so it is there for the web viewer.

I posted that I was able to set a cookie in IE that contained login info, allowing the Web Viewer pluggin to bypass the login page. However, I spoke too soon. This works when running the GBPVR app on my computer, but does not work on the MVP. Any ideas why there would be different functionality when accessing the pluggin via MVP as opposed to the computer?

The MVP runs as part of the recording service, which is running as another user account. This account doesnt have these same cookies.

inside of services you should be able to change the permissions of the service so it can run as the local user instead of system. That should resolve it.
