Service Type: MPEG-2 SD vs MPEG-2 HD

I notice that it is possible to set the Service Type on an ATSC/QAM channel to MPEG-2 SD or MPEG-2 HD, though the channel scan sets them all to MPEG-2 SD even if they're HD.

Is there any reason I should go through my digital channels and set their Service Type correctly? Is this SD/HD distinction being used for anything now or will it be used in the future?

The app treats both MPEG-2 ones the same, so it doesn't which of these it's set to. The various service types you see listed there are types that DVB channels can report their type as. It only difference that really matters is audio-only, MPEG2 or H.264.
