I am branching out and testing a variety of the plugins. I like the idea of not having to be tied to the gbpvr.mdb database. I am getting ready to do a clean install (XP and all) and want to be able to move my recordings over to another drive. Problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to archive all of my old recordings. I assume that setting the archive setting in config to 1 day will move the data for the new stuff, but does it also move the old stuff? How can I tell if I have all of the info?

I would also like to add the icons for the recordings like you show on the download site. How do you do this? The site also has a screen shot of "current and archived" recordings. I only can see a "recordings" screen.

Is there an "instruction manual" for this plugin? It looks to be exactly what I need, however I am not sure how to use it. I mainly use the MVP but sometimes use the PC for my scheduling. I would be happy to help put together some documentation on using it if you can get me some clues on what you can do with the plugin.

The version of the plug-in on the wiki should capture all of your recording info into the archive database whether you have archived the recordings or not. That is, it even incldues informaiton of recordsings that are still in the GBPVR database. It does this so that if you delete the recordings (which clears the informaiton from the GBPVR datasbe) the plug-in will still have the data. If you have microsoft access you can open the database to see what is in there. If not there may be an access database view available somewhere on the web.

As to what shows up on the scree, it used to say Archived and Current Recordings, now it just says Records and shows both on the same screen. This was done to save space on the UI.

There is no real document yet; I have been meaning to document it for the new wiki site but haven't found the time.

Thanks for the quick reply Jeff. I used ctrl S to change the screen to the poster view, but I don't know how to load the posters. Thanks for the help and cool plugin.

If GBPVR is running, the plug-in will automatically try to download the posters as new directories or files are created. You can see what it is doing in the InternetInfoFetcher-MVP.log and/or InternetInfoFetcher-PC.log file. To get things started and "catch up" for things that existed before the plug-in was installed, run the getTVinfo utility once and the getDVDinfo utility once.

Do you remember me mentioning about having .jpgs being created in the same name as all of my recordings? If so, what was the fix? I haven't been able to find it in the searches.

I do remember it being mentioned but I don't recall the resolution either. Is it still happening? For some reason I think it may have been a bug where TV shows were being treated as DVDs (where a lookup is done for each file to find the dvd info). If this was the case I think I fixed it (or tried to) a while back.

Yes, it is definitely still happening. I have been recording Star Treks (TOS&TNG) and I have been adding an episode number to the file name, to facilitate sorting, and DVD creation. Plus it helps to know if I have an episode or not.

When I rename a file, it will create another .jpg with the same name. I really only use Video Archive for browsing files to play, and I like how I can sort by different items, so I use it alot for that.

Any ideas would be great. Do I need to completely remove the plugin, and reinstall it?

Hello, I am new to gb-pvr and am now playing around with the plug-ins. I'd like to ask why can't I download some of the plug-ins and it is requesting for a username and password. However, I can't find where to register to get a username and password.

I downloaded the video archiver and now I am trying to get the GET DVD INFO.Exe

Please help

It's all to do with moving the wiki from the old location to the new. If a file isn't there and you click on its link, the wiki thinks you are going to upload the file and ask you for your username and password (which you only need to upload things).

Have you tried the old wiki location for what you are looking for, or perhaps its part of a forum thread so try searching the forum for it.

I am sure the author of the plugin will spot this and fix the wiki link.

The getdvdinfo program should be installed as part of the video archive plug-in. The exe should be in your main gbpvr directory.
