Hi Folks,

I'm finding live tv and recordings are looking a little fuzzy and the colour is a bit pale/washed out compared to viewing the same source on the TV. I'm running with the latest PVR drivers from shspvr.com, and the latest gbpvr version. Everything else is bog standard WinXP SP2. All the decoder settings etc are left at default.

I don't think it's related to playback as playing a good quality mpeg or DVD looks perfect. The video card is nVida 6600GT playing to a plasma via DVI.

So are there any basic tips to improve the capture quality, in particular colour saturation?

Cheers,

First thing you should try if you are using encoder passthrough, edit the live tv quality settings, and change to VBR, then bump up the bitrate. I've done this by default in the next release.

Other than that, I'd try different video decoders, as they all have a slight different look to them. Hard to say which is the best.

Thanks Sub. Not sure what 'encoder passthrough' is?

However I have d/l'd the nVidia DVD decoder and that has made a significant improvement.

Cheers,
