Missing Channel Icons

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else has missing channel icons in XBMC?

All channel icons are showing correctly within NextPVR and within the NEWA TV Guide, plus they show up fine in X-NEWA.

I'm wondering if its actually an issue with XBMC instead?

Do your have some channel icons or none in XBMC?

Are you using a Windows build of XBMC, or something else? I definitely get the channel icons on my Windows build.

I'm using the Nov 8th build of XBMC for Windows (running W7 x64)

I have absolutely no channel icons whatsoever. I've tried clearing the EPG and PVR databases to no avail
NextPVR and XBMC are installed on the same machine.

Any ideas where I should look to see if there's something up in the logs?

On Windows it's supposed to download them to %APPDATA%\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\pvr.nextpvr\. Does this directory exist on your machine, and does it have any sign of icon files in it?

You could also zip and attach a couple of your icon files so I can check if XBMC shows them on my setup.

Hi sub,

I'm running XBMC in portable mode as it's all started by EventGhost and because I was planning on using XBMC as the shell at some point.

XBMC is installed at c:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC

My user data folder is c:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\portable_data\userdata

All I have in the folder c:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\portable_data\userdata\addon_data\pvr.nextpvr is the settings.xml file

The images DID work some time ago, so I'm wondering if something in XBMC changed regarding the location of the files?

I've included a few of the images and also my logs (ps: I created the referenced folder, however it still appears to not be working)

Looking at your environment and sub's code

m_channelIconDirectory = getenv("APPDATA");

He may not be setting this folder correctly. XBMC has a virtual file system that should be used http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Special_protocol to locate its' files.

Thanks for the head's up - it seems to be using the correct folder when writing to it's settings.xml file - just to get the channel logos to download to there too!

I've pushed through a change which uses this scheme to make sure the icons always end up in the appropriate directory.

Fantastic - I'm guessing we still need to wait for this to be merged before we can have the new build up on WilECoyote's build page?
