XBMC Beta 1

Apparently beta 1 is out now. Did they get sub`s changes merged? The current plugin and X NEWA are not working.

Version numbering is a mess but both sub's older and today's updated 1.0.1.0 aren't compatible with recent builds of xbmc. Only the recent openkamp 1.0.0.0 is.

Although I am now post-beta1 X-NEWA appears to be working fine.

If X NEWA is working then I'd like to use it until the plugin is straightened out. Which version of X NEWA are you using?

I can't answer since even the video I posted yesterday has updates to x-newa, newa, my update to 1.0.1.0 that you can't get yet, but 1.2.11 x-newa with 1.2.9 newa should still work with beta1+

In my case I can launch it, go to the guide and select a show, then the audio starts, but as soon as video starts it just pauses and after 10 seconds or so it stops and returns to the guide. This is on a Win8 client talking to the Win7 x64 server.

Reading more into your post, I suspect you really mean to say live tv from your HDPVR/Colossus card isn't working. When it comes to http streaming xbmc stinks and sub made some changes in 2.5.9 that made it worse. You might find you need to tune a channel twice to get around some of these limitations or do what I do and enable timeshifting in x-newa.

I tried changing to timeshifting before I posted and that had the same problem. You are correct that it is one of my Colossus devices. Do you think using the VLC or direct method would work better?

Also is sub planning on any changes in the future that might help?

In timeshifting try increasing your pre-buffer to 5000 or 6000. VLC is primarily for transcoding and direct is only if want to try custom URL's so they won't help.

Sub did try quite a few things in the attempt to get 2.5.9 to work as well as 2.5.5 did but he wasn't successful, I can't see it being high on his list at this point.

That didn't help. How do I tell which version of NEWA I'm running?

Upload xbmc.log and all the nexpvr web.logs and I'll see if I can see anything.
