The 2 shows that had recorded since the reset did not show up. The only way I could get them to show up was to do another reset of the pvr database.

Is that the normal operation? I was wondering if another piece of the update process was still failing.
I think this is just a shortcoming in XBMC. I remember some discussion on the XBMC forums about six weeks ago about improving the logic that updates the recording list. I think some guy was trying to get some updates merged. I'm not sure what happened with it.

When I play the same recording thru the videos tab as an SMB share I am able to use the skip 30 seconds button with almost immediate results.
I'm not that familiar with the XBMC keyboard control. The right arrow doesn't seem to do anything here. I can click on the timeline and have it jump to the new part of the file pretty much instantly (less than half second). Is the right arrow supposed to do anything in the PVR playback? The NextPVR addon doesn't really have anything to do with the keyboard handling - this is really XBMC stuff.

Sorry I was ambiguous. It was the remote's right arrow, not the keyboard. When watching something from the videos menu it advances 30 seconds. when playing back with the nextpvr client it was taking around 4 or 5 seconds to advance. playing the same recording from the videos menu as a SMB share it was similar to your less than half second response.

I try to not use the keyboard or mouse at all with the XBMC setup and try to use it like a set-top appliance for the TV in our bedroom.

The xbmc computer is very low-end with an atom processor and ION to handle the graphics. maybe that has something to do with it being slower when streaming vs access via SMB. If it continues to be slow, I'll just use the videos menu. I'm just trying set my expectations correctly in case I was doing something wrong that I should change.

Thanks
Have a happy holiday.

Sorry dunno.

The right arrow doesn't seem to do anything here. I can click on the time line and jump very quickly to other parts of the file though, so I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the ability for XBMC to quickly skip to another part of the recording when it wants to. As you say, could be a case of XBMC being slower for this activity when streaming vs samba, and it's very noticeable on your slow processor.

Right/left arrow seek is working correctly here on recordings streamed by NextPVR. It isn't working on live tv or on in-progress recordings because of the way XBMC handles http file times.
