NextPVR and XBMC Internet streaming BITRATE

I'm using the last nextpvr with the patches. Also installed XBMC nightly last night to my android phone. I've edit the config.xml file and set allowremotetranscode and allowremotestreaming to true.
So far, I can stream about 2 seconds across the Internet then xbmc either crashes or buffers and then 2 more seconds etc.
Is there a way to reduce the BITRATE to the xbmc client across the net? I can't quite figure what settings. Ideally, would need to make it less than say 96kb/s (not Kbps).
Ideas?

There is no support for using xbmc across the internet. It always streams the full bitrate of channels, so you pretty much can only use this on a local area network.

Thanks for the quick reply! Any possible work arounds? (Other than the web browser streaming)

You can configure the X-NEWA plugin for XBMC to use VLC transcoding, but NEWA web services would require crypto for security if the IP is not local.

A major challenge for XBMC Android is that it only uses s/w video decoding
