I tried twice to install the Netflix Viewer and the same happen every time, it attaches to my account and then spend one hour and 17 minutes to download information for slightly more than 10000 videos, moves on to update star rating and just ends. No message at all. Is there a log somewhere?

Yes, all files are structured like this:

{Windows Vista/7} C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\DHGB256\Netflix Viewer - The database file and ini file are stored here
{Windows XP} C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\DHGB256\Netflix Viewer - The database file and ini file are stored here
..movieinfo - All thumbnails and downloaded trailer files are kept here
..movieinfo/logs – Folder. All log files are kept here. Log files are only generated if logging=true is set in the .ini file.

If you send me the log files I can help you figure it out.

Just noticed you are in Norway, the program will only work with the US site. Netflix hasn't opened up the API to other countries as far as I know.

Ah I see, so I'm stuck with watching from Internet Explorer?

Have you looked into something like http://www.unblock-us.com/ - I know my brother was using it quite successfully for some time to watch US netflix content (via his xbox).

I tried to install it but it does not seem to work. However, I'm not sure I'v set it up correctly, should it be set up for Netflix US or Norway?

I've never used it, but Netflix US I guess. It does some sort of DNS trick to make Netflix think you're in the US and therefore serve up the US content. Quite how that works when your IP address will still resolve to Norway is beyond me.

I tried both, but when I right click the status icon and select TURN ON it says "Status Disconnected" after a moment so something is not quite ok.

I think you need a US netflix login for this to work. Your account right now is associated with Norway content, so it probably wouldn't work with the API. I know people who have moved from the US and kept using US netflix using this method.

It certainly worked with a UK account.
