I apologize if I'm missing something...but I'm looking to set up a Rogers Cable box PVR, using a Hauppauge 2250 with IR blaster.

Is there a setup procedure for this??

Thanks

The 2250 is not capable of encrypted content. You need the Hauppauge HD-PVR.
But you're in TO, have you considered buying an antenna and using "Over the Air"? That the 2250 can do, very well.
Go to TVFOOL.com to see what your recption results would be.

I'm sure his cable box has analog outputs, so he can probably record standard def just fine with his 2250.

Rogers is encrypting SD clear QAM channels and the Hauppauge FAQ is here:

It doesn't sound like he's trying to do Clear QAM. He mentioned IR Blasters, so I assume he just want's to do it old-school with analog composite/svideo from the set top box, and an IR Blaster to change channels whenever it needs to.

The only tricky bit is setting up the IR Blasters. It's not done in NextPVR, but whatever blaster software you're using. If your 2250 has a retail blasters (ie small 3.5mm socket), then you need to set up blaster in the Hauppauge IR Blaster software, check it works etc, then in the NextPVR device settings screen set your blaster to "c:\program files\npvr\haupblast.exe", then import your channels.

If you're using USB blaster instead, then you need to configure the blaster in HIP or EventGhost or IRSS or something like that.

Did you see the wiki link from Graham in post #4? The channel changer section is relevant if you're using a IR blaster.

Actually since NextPVR does directly support analogue this is trickier then it sounds. The best thing to do is install WinTV 7 and retry
