Might be worth changing it to the ip address (try it) and maybe back again.

I'm having a very similar issue and I think I know what's causing the issue for me.
When I am using xbmc I just go through the menu's and launch whatever I'm wanting to watch, whether live tv or a video file etc.. If I don't stop the channel before launching another xbmc function then nextpvr continues to record the channel. If I use the exit button on my remote it basically just alt+f4's the xbmc session and nextpvr continues to record. If I then try to return into xbmc and try using a channel it says that the tuner is not available and I can see in the nextpvr monitor that it's still recording the previous channel I was watching prior to closing xbmc. The only way to resolve this is to restart the nextpvr service & this in turn leaves the previously recorded channel's files on the hard drive. In the space of a week i had about 230gb of files. Both nextpvr and xbmc are running locally on the same machine. Also this issue never happened on 2.5.9 R1 with the nshared.dll for timeshifting in xbmc. I only upgraded to R2 a week ago and it's been since then that this issue started occurring. Also nextpvr brought out a revised nshared.dll not long before the release of R2 & it also had the same problem, just in case that helps track down where the issue started. Ok I did a quick test and replaced the nshared.dll from R2 with the original nshared.dll that had timeshift functions in xbmc. As soon as I change from a live tv source to another function in xbmc the nextpvr server stops recording immediately. So something between that version of the file & the R2 version is causing the issue for sure. I have uploaded clean log files from both versions of the nshared.dll, I performed the following tasks each time. 1. Started the nextpvr service using the executable provided with the app. 2. Launched xbmc and went to start a channel 3. Went back to my local library and played a movie trailer from my collection. 4. Stopped playing the video and exited xbmc 5. Stopped the nextpvr service and moved the logs. With the original nshared.dll file as soon as I started playing the trailer the nextpvr client stops recording whereas with the R2 version it continued recording until I stopped the service.

Thanks for the findings! Maybe this can help Sub pinpoint what happened between then and now. I'm currently clearing my folder once a day as the 1TB hard drive it writes to fills up fast.

I may have spoke to soon. Mine isn't fixed but it doesn't always keep all files. Came back from a week away and my HDD was stuffed full.

I have the same issue. Tried changing the IP address and then back to 127.0.0.1 which didn't make a difference.
Did some quick testing and it seems like changing channel before about 1 min 30 secs makes the recorded files delete properly. Longer than 1 min 30 secs before changing channel and the files don't get deleted.

I'll take another look when I'm back in New Zealand in a few days.

Hi All, I am having this same issue with NPVR and XBMC on Windows 7, can be quite a nasty little bug on a 128GB SSD drive as it doesn't take long to fill it! Appreciate the efforts in trying to resolve, as a workaround, I have created a batch file to stop the recording service, automatically clear the buffer folder and then restart the service. The below seems to work pretty well as a workaround running each night, I am also looking to set something up for launcher in XBMC to fix the "not available" error that seems to occur from time to time, stopping and starting the service seems to fix this.
Code: net stop "NPVR Recording Service" On a side note, is there a way of changing the default location of the buffer folder to another drive?

My XBMC and NextPVR is also filling up my drive, because even if I stop the "Live Feed" and close XBMC, it keeps recording and file size increases. If I just use NextPVR as the client, no issues.
What am I missing?

See my post above #22. It's a bug that wasn't in the older version of the file. Sub is out of the country so will have a look when he returns. post #26.
