It tells me a newer or equivalent version is already installed and the installer exits. (link from Lao) I don't see why newer versions wouldn't have legacy support anyways.

It's not dx9 it's the run time linked on the wiki.

i know. I tried it when i initially set up npvr and when lao posted the link. As i said above, it doesnt work.

I had to use the full Installer (95MB) on Win 8 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det...px?id=8109
