I just click on a program on the guide, clicked on the stream now and then adjusted the transcode options and click on update...seems to have worked...

However, I'm not sure if you saw what I wrote before? Since updating to 1.4.5 the settings (such as the server IP) aren't retained/saved when I exit our of X-NEWA....

The will be saved when you click save, not on exit. If it fails upload your xbmc.log, it is working here otherwise I couldn't have tested vlc.

It saves for the session I am in, hence I know it's working...so I adjust the settings and select save and then I can access the TV guide, my recordings etc...then when I exit out of X-NEWA and go back in all the settings have been lost...

See attached....this is exactly what I do:

1. Start XBMC
2. Enabled Debug logging
3. Start X-NEWA
4. Starts with Un-abled to connect to the server
5. Go in to settings and put in the IP address, change to VLC, adjust rows
6. Select "SAVE"
7. X-NEWA refreshes and I can see my recorded programs, guide etc.
8. Check that the guide is working, it is
9. Exit out of X-NEWA
10. Go back to in X-NEWA and it has forgotten my all settings

It looks like you have 2 x-newa.ini files. Can you delete the one in script.:xnewa....?

worked....thanks....since trying to adjust options for transcoding in NEWA I am no longer stream in X-NEWA
