Have you got the stream.log? That's the next layer down, that would show the retry.

I thought I had a copy but I guess I was on the backend. Hard to watch two pc screens, browse and watch tv, all on a laptop. I'll be glad when I can work out of the "bat cave" again.

I've been running tests all day with the patch from post 151, with my HDHR Prime tuner, and after running 8 or 9 live TV sessions to a client I have had no lockups. Now some of those were with the patch on a 2.5.5 install (I did see hangs with both 2.5.5. and 2.5.9), but after a while I upgraded to 2.5.9 again to continue testing and so far so good.

The only problem I've seen is that twice when I let the show play for a while, and the buffer files got up to numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 or thereabouts, when I exited from watching, the higher number buffer files weren't deleted. This past time numbers 5, 6, and 7 weren't deleted.

However, that is a small problem that can even be worked around with a nightly batch file if needed.

I think there's something wrong with the file deletion logic. Currently watching a show and I have these buffer files:

XX.ts
XX.8.ts
XX.9.ts
XX.10.ts

The files in between were deleted in progress but the original wasn't. When I stopped watching live TV the original file was deleted but 8-10 weren't.

Here are the logs after an Argh error which is different the a read 0 that causes a trace error.

As for deleting files that is pretty much much how it has worked for years. When things don't crash, if you stop playback after the -3 file is deleted in progress, often the last 3 rolling files will be left, the first for me is usually removed.

Here is the different log scenario with the read = 0 freeze, it generated a trace and more logging when I killed the task.

I didn't want to miss the end of a movie so I recorded with crtl-k. Now I am not able to watch the recording in progress. Maybe the other streaming mode is broken now? logs attached.

Give this one a go. It fixes a couple of issues with playback and skipping of in-progress recordings.

The attachment is missing. Is there anything more you need me to do with live tv?
