I just noticed in the logs it says I am running X-NEWA 1.4.4. however I know it is version 1.4.7., as seen in this screen dump:

There are of embedded version strings that I don't always remember to change.

For path substitution, I woke up remembering that the back slashes are normalized to slashes on non-windows clients, so you should try changing those in the to block. I am still missing seeing the actual log messages early in in xbmc.log where the substitution block is actually loaded by xmbc and that concerns me a bit, but I will look again later.

so all slashes should be / rather than /?

So I should change it to:

<pathsubstitution>
<substitute>
<from>M:/Recorded TV/</from>
<to>smb://192.168.137.46/TV/</to>
</substitute>
</pathsubstitution>

Yes for x-newa purposes, all backslashes should be slashes in non-Windows environments.

Still cannot get it to work, changed the slashes etc....attached is another xbmc.log

On another note, would you be able to make your X-NEWA plugin compatible with Plex? This would allow the whole Plex community to start using NextPVR with or without compiling a version of PlexHT (with PVR enabled).

I think I an oops. Could you open details.py with a text editor and modify the line #url = url.replace('\\','/') by removing the #

The Plex UI is really a client to the Plex server and the server is not open source.

Just wondering, do I only uncomment that line for OSX versions or also for Windows? Also, is the default.py in X-NEWA, NEWA or XBMC sorry?

In terms of Plex, things such as LetMeWhatThis, IceFilms, ABC iView, iPlayer (BBS), CBS, ABC (USA) etc. all work, it would be a fantastic add-on (X-NEWA, or more aptly named P-NEWA?) because as you say since it runs from the server then all clients (such Android, IOS, aTV's (even non-jailbroken aTV's as they could use Airplay) etc.) could all use your plugin to play LiveTV, access a TV Guide and watch Recorded TV....just thought if it was possible you'd have a killer plugin that would not only be popular for Plex users but would also really get NextPVR out there...

Just wait a few days and I"ll be able to get a real fix to whatever I broke. It's kind of a mess here and I'm just doing everything from a Windows laptop.

I did look at Plex a year ago, and decided against doing it, and now with xbmc support the NextPVR client base isn't there. I can't envision the logic for the EPG either so I am not finding a compelling reason to do this.

No worries, I can wait....take your time and thanks again.

Plex has come along way in the last 12mths, for a start there now is a version called PlexHT which is based off of the Frodo code, for that reason alone I thought it might not be too hard to support.

Plex team have no interest in supporting the PVR parts of Frodo (hence there is a spin off called PlexPVR that is recompiled to allow Live TV).

The opportunity I see grabbing the attention of all Plex users that want Live TV (last around around 1,200-2,000) however wish to be using the official Plex supported version that does support Live TV; in comes X-NEWA with NextPVR as a backend and many Plex users would be ecstatic....easiest backend TV server to set up, Windows based, supports HDHomeRuns etc. etc.

Just a thought...
