I no longer see the "NEW" icon with XMLTV Extras

I used to see a "NEW" icon or logo in TV Listings using XMLTV Extras which indicated new broadcasts. After upgrading to the latest versions of TV Listings and XMLTV Extras I no longer see that icon.

Did something in either app change, or is that info no longer supplied in the XMLTV file? I use mc2xml as my grabber and Microsoft as the source which provides XMLTV data from Zap2It.

Hi,

the "new" information is now longer created from the information of the xmltv extras utitlity. Instead, the data from the "first run" field of an epg event is used that is available in the default npvr database.

I'm just getting started, and have never seen the "new" flag appear yet.
I'm also using mc2xml (not the donation version) and Microsoft.
Any ideas?

Don't know if you figured this out since you posted this, but in order to see the "New" icon, you have to go into the TV Listings skin file (TV Listings.xml) and set "ShowFirstRunStatusIcon" to true, I think the default is false.

Hi,
With both TV Listings and TV Guide both are showing NEW on everything.
Am I missing something?
NPVR has "Highlight New etc" selected and TV Listings has "ShowFirstRunStatusIcon" to true.
Any advice appreciated

Maybe try de-selecting Highlight New etc in settings...

That makes no change to TV Listings, only as expected, on NPVR's TV Guide.
Basically both display all programs as NEW except when enabled to Record.

Some EPG sources have everything flagged as new; that's why highlighting them is optional.
