I'm using 2.5.5 (because of the live-TV hang in 2.5.9) with a HD-PVR to record and SchedulesDirect to provide EPG data. Recently I noticed the EPG data wasn't updating automatically. It updates fine if I do it manually. Since SchedulesDirect support is baked into NextPVR natively I am unsure - does it call a batch file similar to when you use MC2XML? I was using MC2XML for a while, but the problems with Microsoft's EPG data over Christmas made me switch over to a subscription with SchedulesDirect.

Since I had MC2XML working well enough before, does it make sense to switch back to it and tell it to use the SchedulesDirect EPG data?

If you can post the nrecord.log, I can check what happened the last couple of nights.

Schedules Direct updates have flaked out on both of my NextPVR machines twice in the past 4 days (one running Windows 7, the other running Windows XP). My suspicion is that Schedules Direct has been having issues this past week. They both update fine when I run the EPG Update manually. Anyone else having similar problems?

Have either of you tried changing EPG Update Hour (Settings/Misc2)? Perhaps too many machines are calling server at the same time. I use MC2XML myself, no problems recently, but I don't think it can grab EPG data from anywhere except Microsoft. If I had a SchedulesDirect subscription, I would post nrecord.log as sub suggested.

Mine has had partial updates 3 times in the past week. Each time, a manual refresh works normally. My update time is set to 2:00 am Eastern time (GMT -5). I changed it to 4:00 am after manually refreshing it this morning.

Mine hasn't autoupdated for ages, I have to remember to manual update each weekend. I've started threads and posted logs before but never got an answer for the problem.

Your last logs just showed Schedules Direct timing out. Maybe they just have high volumes overnight and there server isn't always able to respond in a timely fashion. Maybe try moving your updates to a different time of day.

If rtangwai can post his logs, I'll check what's happening in his case.

I've attached my NRecord logs (I put in the extra logs as I wasn't sure how far back you wanted).

In your case, some invalid XML data is being returned from Schedules Direct, so the application is unable to parse the data.

I've been seeing the same issue the last couple of weeks.
One day I have a full guide out 10 days, next day missing data.

I've attached the NRecord.logs

Thanks
Steve
