I had some problems a week or so agao which I thought was solved.
Checking Npvr TV Guide in the morning shows 6 days and no recurring programs identified in red.
Then i can do any of the following which will come up with 7 days and recurring programs now identified.:-
Stop and restart Npvr
Go to settings and exit
Manually set any program in the guide to record.

Npvr is scheduled to refresh TV Guide at 5 am. This is from XML file made by EPG collector at 3am and written to C/Tvguide/TvGuide.xml. EPG Collector file is updating ok. Npvr guide can be manually updated from this ok.

Logs attached.

Help please

Further to above.
Yesterday all updated ok!
Today same problem as above.
This is a clean install of win10 and last week i reinstalled latest Npvr.
Is there something in how Npvr updates recording service, or how recording service updates Npvr? Maybe how often Npvr updates from recording service, or what the triggers for update are?
The only thing not changed by reinstall are config files. Could there be a problem here?
One addition to above information is that when the preset recordings are not red in guide, the recording does not happen.
This is very puzzling, especially since it is intermittent.

Looking in your nrecord.log, I can see it successfully reading your TVGuide.xml file each night for the last four nights. I have no idea if what is in your TVGuide.xml is correct, and updated etc.

Quote:2019-03-20 05:01:40.585 [DEBUG][10] Loading XMLTV from: C:\TV Guide\TVGuide.xml
2019-03-20 05:01:40.936 [DEBUG][10] channelEventLists.Count=32
2019-03-20 05:01:41.082 [INFO][10] -channel: 'TVNZ 1' has 213 listings
2019-03-20 05:01:41.320 [INFO][10] -channel: 'TVNZ 2' has 330 listings
2019-03-20 05:01:41.460 [INFO][10] -channel: 'Three' has 189 listings
2019-03-20 05:01:41.728 [INFO][10] -channel: 'PRIME' has 242 listings
…

I can also see it successfully updating the scheduled recordings after the EPG update. No sign of anything going wrong.

Regarding the shows not showing as red in the guide, if you simply restart the NextPVR front end, do they then show as red (like NextPVR has updated the guide, but the front end hadn't reloaded the updated data)?

If you click on a show in the guide, and the then press the right arrow, does it immediately move to the next show, or does it sometimes take two or more presses to get to the next show? We'd seen a user in the past that duplicate entries in their xmltv files in the past, and the app was marking the show red in the guide, but there was another show on top of it (same name/times, but in black) that wasn't going to record (since it was already recording that episode)

There are no none issues in this area, so I'm pretty sure it'll be something peripheral going on...it's just a matter of finding what exactly.

Yesterday EPG updated fine.
Npvr initially did not respond to remote this morning but after using mouse it came right,
Today, as above 6 days and no "red" recordings. I tried using right arrow - it just moves immediately to next program.
Restart Npvr updated from recording service ok.
I am beginning to think I have a hardware issue as it is all clean install (although I am running a couple of other programs on this computer - met station etc).
I will stop the other programs overnight and see if it makes a difference.
Any thoughts gratefully accepted.

If you want to zip and attach your npvr.db3, I'll check why these shows are not showing red.

Thanks sub.
I have been trying to get some consistency and see what is happening. This takes some time as I can only try one thing each day.
Current situation:-
Some days epg updates perfectly. Other times in the morning I see 6 days of data and no programs identified in red. However the set programs (normally in red but not showing red on program guide) will record. The moment you play the program the EPG reverts to 7 days with all set programs in red (as they should be).
It seems that anything that needs Npvr to access the recording service sorts it. This includes exiting Npvr and restarting, opening settings and closing, playing a recorded program or watching live tv. All of these activities update the program guide to the correct state.
Do you still need to see npvr.db3? any thoughts?

I have been seeing this situation where scheduled recordings are not highlighted in red in the guide for many months. My HTPC is rarely restarted and sometimes it goes fine for several days then the red highlight disappears so I just quit the front end, restart it and it's fixed. When the highlight disappears from the programs, it still shows up on the timeline at the top of the guide. I have no EPG issues, I use Schedules Direct with a nightly update.

I actually did find something that might be the cause. It is mainly an issue for users in a timezone ahead of GMT, like NZ. Try the attached patch (and update the epg).
