NextPVR doesn't attempt to install any decoders (since this would cost $$$ to do legally). Instead it just allows you to choose from decoders already on your machine. You may or may not need to install decoder depending on what is on your machine.

The patch helped!
Thanks a lot for the quick and helpful support :-)

Now all that's left is to see if those buffering .ts files are still piling up in my temp folder - I see in that thread that you fixed it - should it be fixed with the NShared.dll you referred me to?
So for the time being, I don't have to re-install the updated installer right?

And what about updating the XBMC add-on?

Thanks a lot again,
Nir.

That one file was the only file updated in the installer.

You may also need that updated addon to make sure your temp files are deleted.

Thanks.

Sorry, but XBMC doesn't indicate there's an update to the PVR client - how do I update it?

There is no automated update for it at this point, just a windows addon dll posted in that other thread. Specifically http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post454440.

It's unclear whether I'll be able to push through an update to the main XBMC Frodo build now that they've moved development to the next version.

thanks, that indeed solved the temp files issue :-)

another small issue (happened before the addon patch) - not sure if it's related to NPVR or XBMC - I have a recording I paused watching at 15:00 and want to resume. I watch another minute and stop. When I resume, XBMC asks if I want to resume from 16:00 (which is correct), but practically it's resumed from 15:00 again. If I restart XBMC and resume again, it's fine (from 16:00).
If it's a NPVR issue I can open another thread.

p.s. please let me know if there's any risk in upgrading to Frodo 12.1 - I really need NPVR to work correctly :-)

Great.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you on that one. I'm not sure how XBMC is attempting it's resume.

I've only been running a 12.1 version for a few hours. It's seemed ok so far.

Thanks, I guess it's XBMC then (although it doesn't happen with movies etc.)

last question, please: do you have an idea what triggers the 'recordings' list to refresh on XBMC? I had a few recordings that weren't shown after they stopped, and were shown once I restarted XBMC (note that this was before today's patches..).

From memory if you click 'recordings' on the left hand side pop out menu, XBMC will re-request the recordings.
