Hi, is there any difference between recording with 1 or 2 tv tuners? Such as recording 6 channels (mixture of HD & SD) of a mux with 1 tv tuner or better to split the recordings between 2 tv tuners if I have extra tuner? Thanks a lot.

In my experience it makes no difference ... plus NextPVR will automatically record all channels that are on the same mux using a single tuner. You would have to do some snazzy stunts in Settings - Devices to force channels on a single mux to be split between two devices and I fear that would end in tears. My vote is to let NextPVR decide.

I mean I add channel 1 to 5 of a mux on tv tuner 1 and channel 6 to 10 of the same mux on tv tuner 2 which I am currently doing. There is no problems at all. Deciding whether to remove the extra tuner or not and let tv tuner 1 do all the recordings.

If you get all your channels on 1 mux, I can't see any reason to have two tuners. NPVR sees the full transport stream with all the channels, and just picks out the program streams it wants to record; with 2 tuners tuned to the same mux, it'd just be looking at two copies of the same transport stream. If anything then, 2 tuners is just extra load to do the same work (negligible extra load of course).

Of course if you have it all set with two tuners, and have no use for the other tuner elsewhere, may as well just leave it. Maybe one day they light up another mux and give you more channels?

A tuner card could be using anywhere between a couple of watts and 10 or 15 watts depending on its type, and you might as well save the electricity by removing it if you genuinely don't need it.
