Hi guys.

I have had a minor problem ever since I started using GBPVR and since it seems consistent I thought I would bring up the issue. Quite often I have the same show occuring in the epg twice but slightly offset, example: Seinfeld 22:30-23:00 and Seinfeld 22:40-23:10. I have checked the actual XML file several times, and I find the XML file only has one(the correct) entry. Any idea what is causing this???

Could it be that old EPG info is not "flushed" by updated information?

GB-PVR never updates XMLTV listing times once they're imported. I recommend people do an an initial update of a week or so, but from then on only grab one day or so of listings (so they're not importing dates which already exist).

Is there any chance that this can be an option in the config as I have the same problem. I update by the alan birtles utility for XMLTV

http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/

and the only way of doing this is to download all information, you can't just tell it to download a day of listings.

Sorry, I wont be making this change anytime soon. It is on my todo list though.

And on my todo list is to finish my EPG cleanup utility that will fix this sort of problem. Big Grin Maybe over the next couple of weeks when work is less hectic.

caz / smeghead - when I spot these in the TV Guide I run gbpvr from the command-line first with -onlyemptyepg then -onlyupdateepg although this doesn't fix any duplicates that are programmes in a Season Record group.

caz - in answer to why it happens - it's when a TV station reschedules a programme to a slightly different time slot. As sub said - once the first one is in there it doesn't get taken out - the second (or even third or fourth, in my experience) just gets added.

Cheers,
Brian

Fair enough. IMHO it's not that important anyways.

Thank you for the replies. I like going through the guide once a week and schedule whatever I want to record for that upcoming period, so I'm not really into the single day update. However, I don't encounter the problem that often so its not that big a deal ...

I haven't experienced this myself but I think Sub means if you have the all the data up until next Saturday tonight it will only download next sunday not download the data it has already got as this is never updated and would cause the clashes you are talking about...

Yes, thats right. You'll still have a week's worth of listings at all times.
