Hey guys,

Has anyone experienced a problem with double keypresses when using a remote? I'm using the same hardware I've had for almost two years, but since I upgraded to Win 7, each keypress on the remote seems to register twice, making navigation difficult. This only happens in GB-PVR; Hulu seems to function normally.

I'm using the remote receiver of my Hauppauge 2250, and I've installed the Hauppauge remote software. This worked flawlessly under XP.

The upgrade to Win 7 has caused many problems, and I've solved almost all of them, but this one has me stumped.

hmm this is really strange that it works fine in Hulu but not in GBPVR.. I used both XP and Vista in the past and am on Win7 now with all Hauppauge hardware and it's working okay for me.

have you tried using your old irremote.ini file? (in case you backed it up)

Maybe your remote receiver was recognized as a MCE remote??? Is eHome device enabled in device manager?

Snooze,

I think you've hit it on the head. I saw the eHome device in the Device Manager but didn't know what it was. I've disabled it, and now the remote system responds poorly, requiring several remote keypresses in some cases. However, I'd call that progress! I'll keep working on it.

@sgilani - Yeah, backing up would have been a great idea. I had a great idea once, but not lately.

Thanks

there's a registry key that sets the polling rate. too small, and you get repeat presses. too large, and you miss some presses.

the key is called PollRate .. I think it's at HKLM\Software\Hauppauge\IR.. just search in the registry editor for it and it should come up. tweak it and see if it helps.

i bet it's gbpvr recognizing it as a mce remote...what is the remote set to on dvd tab of config?
try setting it to default[hauppauge] or if already set to that, try mce remote..

Problem seems to be solved, thanks for the suggestions. I think the remote that came with my 2250 is an MCE remote, and that's what the config was set to. I tried changing it, and using a Hauppauge remote, with no luck. I switched it back, and re-enabled the eHome device and everything seems to be working as before.

What a great forum!
