I've been running NPVR for a few months now with no problems until last night when I noticed a program that should be recording wasn't. When I opened NPVR to investigate, I noticed that my guide was empty. I went back through the mc2xml installation instructions to refresh my memory on how I set it up originally which took me to the mc2xml directory. I viewed the TVGuide.xml file and it looks like it updated successfully because it was showing shows out to 7 days in the future. So then I opened the NPVR Settings page, selected Channels, selected my HDHomeRun tuner, and chose the Import button. After that, I saw the following error - Unexpected error importing channels: Could not find file 'D:\mc2xml\xmltv.dtd' I don't ever recall a dtd file being one of the files mc2xml created. Any suggestions?

It is just a kind of descriptor file for the code to know what to expect in the data file. This is what I have on my laptop from a test directory. I'm pretty sure I have the same one on my NPVR machine at home.
Tuners: SD HDHR Prime (HDHR3-CC). SD HDHR Connect Quatro Tuner (HDHR5-4US) - only QAM.  EXVIST H.265 Encoder - capturing cable box.
Client: Odroid-N2 running knewc on KODI - connected via MoCA.
EPG: SchedulesDirect
Provider: Verizon Fios
Server: Dell XPS 8700 with Windows 10

Hi Randykc, first of all the Wiki author was using an analog device as an example. You don't use "Import" for digital devices such as your HDHomeRun. Instead, the next step in EPG setup is to "map" your channels as described here: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...TVEPG#toc2

I'm using mc2xml myself and haven't had the problem you report, but I can't help suspecting that it might be related to another recent thread titled "NPVR Fails to Read Information from EPG." When you wrote "my guide was empty," did you mean only certain channels or every channel? Have you installed any of the current patches, particularly patches #4 and #5? (I didn't see any need for them myself.) Do you think you could zip and attach your logs, especially your NRecord logs? I see you're new to the forum so I'll explain: The logs are typically found in C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Logs (unless you're running XP). You can right-click on them to send them to a zipped folder (which won't affect your setup), then attach them to a post by pressing "Go Advanced" at lower right and using a button that looks like a paperclip.

Thanks for the help - I'll add my logs when I get back home.

I saw that thread when I was searching for a solution, but that one seemed to indicate that it was never getting the TVGuide.xml file to update, which mine seems to be doing.

I don't recall installing a patch, but I'll see if I did.

By the guide being empty, it was every channel. Like the 7 days have gone by without getting any guide update.

Thanks for the link Zeb. When I started following it, I noticed that I lost my channel map somehow. In the process of re-mapping the xmltv channels again. Hoping that this will fix it.
