HVR 1700 - help needed with analog side

I've recently installed a Hauppauge HVR 1700, to replace the HVR 1200 and PVR 150 in my system.

I can get the DVB-T side of the 1700 working fine, but can't seem to get the Analog side going. I have a feed from a set top box (Sky Digital here in NZ) into the S-Video port and RCA inputs for the audio.

The analog device is not showing in the Devices screen.

I have installed WinTV7 so I have the SoftPVR components.

Any ideas??

Looks like you might need to add the 1700 to analogdevices.xml. I think the info for making the entry comes from filtercheck.exe. Run that, and post the log that it creates. (I think it is in the npvr program files directory.) Or, you can try yourself by looking at the other entries and creating a new one from the filtercheck log results.

Are you sure it's not showing in the Devices list? The log shows two hauppauge analog tuners:

Thanks guys - though I think I've discovered the problem is slightly deeper. I tried setting the HVR1700 up with WinTV7 and I can't get an analog signal through there either. Maybe I've just got a dud card. I'll email Hauppauge and see what they say.

Sounds like you should try a different driver
Use the hauppuage driver clear tool and reinstall at the same time don't let windows do it use the hauppuage installer

I've tried 3 different drivers, as well as two different versions of WinTV7.

SoftPVR components are installed - but of course this isn't relevant for viewing in WinTV7.

I've emailed Hauppauge so will see what they have to say.

One question, if I use the Hauppauge clear tool that will delete drivers for my other Hauppauge cards as well, correct? I don't want to completely mess up the system...

Yes, it will remove all your hauppauge drivers. Anyway, I have used it many times and it didn't cause me any problems so far.

WinTV 7 does require SoftPVR components. If you get WinTV running you don't need to do anything with SoftPVR for NextPVR.
