What happens is I will press ctrl right (or left) to move to the next genre then the message "there is something wrong with the database" (paraphrasing) comes up and it rebuilds the movieinfo.ntf file.

Could I try a copy of the version prior to 3.7.1.0? I don't know what the revision history is but I'd like something that was released or used frequently on XP without much issue if that is known.

I tested it last night and I am getting the same behavior with Windows 7. Something is obviously broken with it, so I'll work on it. In the mean time I'll set up an FTP, so you can get whichever version you want from my old versions folder. I'll post location shortly.

Are you able to switch genres through the options menu (ctrl-o) OK?

Yes switching to genres via the options menu works. Thanks for that suggestion, as I was able to browse through the list of genres and select any from there.

I'll still give a previous version a try to see if switching via ctrl-right/left works in those versions too or is an existing bug?

Thanks for your help with this.

the FTP site is: dhgb256.dyndns.tv

Use anonymous login, you'll have access to every version back to 2.9.8.4.

I'll let you know when I get the genre switching fixed.

Thanks for the FTP. I am unable to login. If I try using the Windows XP ftp application I just get "unknown host"

If I try connecting to the FTP via FileZilla (dhgb256.dyndns.tv port 21) I get the following:

Resolving address of dhgb256.dyndns.tv
Status: Connecting to 71.54.185.252:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message..
Error: Could not connect to server

Thanks,

I find that your latest version works well again, thanks much, but I do still get leftover IE windows/tabs whenever I watch shows that have multiple episodes but not when I watch movies (specifically noticed with The Walking Dead and Eureka). Fortunately the IE windows now stay completely in the background and cause no problems, so I mostly don't notice them any more.

There is one other behavior that I didn't notice until recent versions, though it could be some change at Netflix too: when watching an episode of a show, at the end the next episode plays automatically; then if no one has touched the remote in awhile, it will stop a few minutes in to the next episode and ask to confirm that someone is still watching (I guess to avoid paying streaming fees playing to an empty room). The problem comes then if I have fallen asleep - if there is no response to the confirmation pop-up after awhile, it switches to a "playback has timed out" screen. At this point the screen will not respond and I can't get back to the menu or close it. Escape, Alt-F4, etc. do nothing. I have to VNC into it, click the mouse a few times on the screen until the Windows "Not Responding" box comes up and then I can close the program.

I realize that could be very tough to troubleshoot, since it takes a good long time for that screen to come up.... I'm not even exactly sure how long after the 'keep playing' question comes up that it times out, nor whether the time-out screen stops responding immediately or takes awhile from there to get stuck.

Thanks by the way, I got stuck on Walking Dead because of you Big Grin Interesting show.

I have had the same time-out issue and thought I just had to hit esc to close out the window. Do you have anything other than my program open when this happens?

I'll look into it when I troubleshoot the genre switching. It will be a few weeks, work has been kicking my butt as of late.

OK I have a new version up, thank you for your patience. Note: I am using windows IE10 and I have not had any phantom IE windows in quite a while with this new version. I also think I fixed the genre scrolling problem, you now no longer have to wait until the list is fully loaded before hitting the scroll button again. I tested and didn't get any faults. Netflix also got rid of the newly watched RSS feed, so I had to drop newly watched movies from the genre list.

I'll look into the lost focus issue soon. Happy watching!

Suddenly getting a problem where the viewer loads the movies in the queue, updates the star ratings, seems to repeat the process and then pops up a box that says "No movies for selected genre". The list is blank, can't do anything to get the list to populate. I tried updating to 3.7.3, but got the same result. I run in Queue Only mode, I think there was a problem like this in the past that you fixed.
